CIRCUS
© Woodstock Taylor

There will always come a day
When the circus moves away
Now you see them, now they're gone
Past the time for moving on
Lights and wheels that moved so fast
No time to think it wouldn't last
Hopes and dreams that burned so bright
Fire that chased away the night
And so I painted on a smile
Perhaps I fooled them for a while
I should have taken that last dance -
Now I'll never get the chance.
The crowd are gone, the tents are down...
Tell me, what'll I do now?
